Our office was designed for your comfort. And your treatment is tailored to meet your needs and expectations. Every member of our staff is dedicated to providing excellent patient care. True to his philosophy, Dr. Bernitsky meets with every patient, and conducts every surgical procedure himself. You will be treated professionally from your first call to our office, and throughout your entire experience with us. A decision to have any vision correction surgery is an important one, and we treat it that way.
EXPERIENCED SURGEON
Choosing an experienced surgeon is one of the most important steps you’ll take in ensuring a good result. Dr. Bernitsky has performed thousands of vision correction surgeries including LASIK, ICL and lens replacement surgeries and has been involved in all aspects of vision correction surgery for more than 25 years. Dr. Bernitsky’s specialized training in advanced corneal surgery at Johns Hopkins makes him uniquely qualified to deal with even the most complex eye problems.
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
Dr. Bernitsky is committed to providing his patients the very safest and best technology available. There is no single surgery or technology that’s best for everyone, and for this reason Dr. Bernitsky offers the full spectrum of vision correction alternatives including two Custom Wavefront excimer lasers – the Bausch and Lomb Technolas 217z/Zyoptix and the Visx Star S4 with Iris Recognition. In addition he is the first and only New Mexico surgeon to offer the most recent advancement in blade-free LASIK technology – the Ziemer Da Vinci laser. If LASIK isn’t best for your situation, Dr. B has other vision correction alternatives in his armamentarium including the only reversible vision correction procedure – the Staar Visian ICL, as well as the option of refractive lens exchange.

Dr. Bernitsky and his entire staff are active members of the Albuquerque Community. We’re proud to say that 100% of our staff members participate in the United Way of Central New Mexico, and our office is one of the “Top 100” businesses in Albuquerque for that accomplishment. Dr. Bernitsky believes that part of his responsibility is to ‘give back’ as frequently and generously as possible. He is proud of his ongoing support for several community institutions including United Way of Central New Mexico, the Albuquerque Community Foundation, the UNM Presidential Scholarship Fund, The New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, Habitat for Humanity, PB&J Family Services, and the Storehouse. In addition he and his family regularly participate in medical missions to underserved communities in Mexico.
